Position Summary:
The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be a part of Carboline Global Continuous Improvement Team supporting the development and execution of continuous improvement projects at the Lake Charles, LA manufacturing facility.
The person in this role will serve as a key resource to support plant optimization efforts regarding capacity, cost, safety, quality, and environmental improvements.
Essential Functions:
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methodologies and ability to teach and model them.
Investigating shortfalls, issues, and complaints in current business processes. Ability to influence, mentor, and coach to get results through others. Collaborates with operations manager and/or plant engineering on modification of equipment and processes to reduce cost and improve efficiency and quality. Works together with R&D, engineering, and plant resources to develop and implement continuous improvement projects. Collaborates with R&D on process development - Including reviewing and approving proposed manufacturing procedures for new products. Provides technical support and consultation to the Quality Control department.
Specifically, regarding recovery plans for off-specification, obsolete, and problem finished goods. Monitors the consistency of production using SQC, SPC, or other appropriate techniques. Strong communicator with top-notch presentation skills who can develop and provide training to production personnel on matters concerning formulation, materials handling, processing, and quality procedures. Follow all environmental rules and regulations to ensure hazardous materials and waste are managed in an environmentally responsible manner. Leadership role in effort to recertify and reclaim Non-Conforming material.
Works in coordination with QC and R&D to isolate, test and recertify Non-Conforming material that can be repackaged and sold. Observing production processes, conducting research, and finding ways to increase efficiency and quality. Continuously challenging the status quo understood as a day-to-day activity in our operating areas. Proactive problem solving based on statistical analysis of corrective actions / assigned by Engineering Director, Plant Manufacturing Manager, QA, EHS projects. Selection and development of tools and fixtures for improvements Perform additional duties as assigned. Commitment to the Company's Safety and Quality programs.
Take an active role in hazard recognition and injury prevention by following all safety rules & regulations
Requirements:
4 years Chemistry, Engineering degree or equivalent experience, minimum 3 years' experience in a CI role. Formal training in Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies preferred Green Belt. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, operating and maintenance manuals and safety rules.
Ability to use a computer for all company required processes, procedures, and trainings.

Provide accurate information, situation analysis, and risk assessments to Offender Managers and escalate issues as necessary.
Uphold a safe working environment for staff, residents, and visitors by adhering to Health and Safety legislation, following Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), and reporting incidents to the Manager.
Conduct Health and Safety, fire alarm, curfew, and room curfew checks according to established procedures.
Organize and deliver purposeful activities aligned with residents' sentence plan objectives.
Administer medication to residents and conduct weekly and nightly audits of medication sheets.
Conduct drug and alcohol tests in accordance with risk management plans.
Provide First Aid in case of resident injuries or self-harm incidents.

The Corporate Project & Design Engineer is accountable for providing engineering design specifications and standards as well as leading strategic CapEx engineering projects within Manufacturing Operations.

Project Management - Manage projects using the Engineering Work Process from conceptual design through successful startup transition to the local plant team.
This includes managing budget, timeline, and deliverables to ensure projects meet established success criteria. Design - Recommend, and implement manufacturing systems that are designed for machine, human interaction, method/process, raw material & environmental variability.
Design to incorporate Lean principles to improve reliability, ease of use & maintenance, minimize changeover times, and to minimize production losses. Construction Management - Manage contractors, technicians, skilled trades, and internal resources to safely install and startup manufacturing systems.
This includes working with the plant operational teams on training, standard operating procedures, and identification of spare parts. Apply the Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations, building code, and NFPA fire code to capital projects and design specifications Manage external Engineering Firm resources on large capital projects Frequent interface with corporate staff, plant staff, operators, and maintenance personnel across a 3-shift operation
Education/Experience Requirements:
BS in Chemical Engineering preferred.
Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Packaging, and Electrical Engineers with hands-on related experience will also be considered. 5 years Minimum in plant engineering support role with hands-on experience in engineering, process design, continuous improvement, troubleshooting equipment, project management and project start-up verification Demonstrated strong organizational, interpersonal, and technical communication skills, with the ability to lead and thrive in fast-paced, multitasking environments Commitment to safety, ethical behavior, and respect for people, ensuring adherence to industry standards, governmental regulations and company values Willingness to travel frequently to support capital project assignments.

Essential Functions:
• Handle all incoming calls including customers, providing directions to the Service Center, providing information regarding orders, routing calls to appropriate individuals to assure accurate information is provided. • Assist with will-call customers. • Print various documentation such as: Bill of Ladings, Packing Slips, and PIC lists. • Prepare all shipping paperwork. • Contacts freight lines to arrange order pickups. • Complete miscellaneous filing, typing, copying and other projects that are necessary to keep the day-to-day workflow of the service center organized. • Data entry in computer on all shipments leaving the facility such as pro #'s from truck lines, freight charges. • Provide customer service assistance to all Customer Service Representatives to assist them in obtaining the necessary information they need to get their shipments out. • Run various reports as requested. • Back up warehouse functions of cycle count during annual inventory. • Communicates with the manufacturing plant, scheduling, shipment, and delivery of product.
May involve prioritizing and negotiating product availability, partial shipments, or splitting shipments. • Follows up daily on order status and notifies CSRs or sales rep of any changes. • Operates the LN computer system for Sales and Replenishment order shipments. • Review orders for special requirements of customers and ensure that the information is conveyed to the appropriate warehousemen. • Works with Corporate Traffic Department to make cost efficient shipments. • Perform additional duties as assigned • Commit to the Company's safety and quality programs.

About the role
Deliver Housing Capital Programme contracts ensuring the objectives, targets and priorities of the Council are achieved whilst remaining compliant within statutory regulations.
The Housing Capital Programme team undertakes approximately £20m per annum of spend on a range of improvement projects (including retrofit, compliance, and decent homes) to the 5,600 landlord properties within the HRA.
Examples of contracts delivered include:
Replacement kitchens and bathrooms
Re-roofing

Primary Responsibilities
Operate rotational molding machinery and ancillary equipment. Operate mixer to make batches of polyethylene powder, pigment, and additives. Pull plastic components from molds manually or with hand tools and fixtures. Trim plastic flash around parting lines using knives and hand tools. Fabricate plastic components using power tools, trim fixtures, and gauges. Inspect plastic housings to drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
