The role of a Higher Level Teaching Assistant would include delivering interventions to small groups of children with SEND and additional needs.
Teach Phonics to whole classes in KS1.
Cover whole classes in KS1 in the teachers absence.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will be expected to:
Establish positive relationships with the pupils, parents, class teachers and other members of staff across the school
Deliver lessons to whole classes across KS1, being a KS1 Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will be using plans provided from the class teachers
Deliver interventions to small groups of children with SEND and additional needs
Deliver Phonics Lessons across KS1
Support the class teacher with planning activities and resources for the classrooms
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or extensive experience as a Teaching Assistant
Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum
Experience covering whole classes in the teachers absence in KS1
Have aspirations to develop their career further, aspiring primary teachers are strongly encouraged to apply
Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
Right to work in the UK
