Role Overview
We are currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join a leading Pharmaceutical company based in the Leicestershire area.
As the Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of maintenance activities, adhering to environmental and HS&E legislation, and contributing to the ongoing success of the companys production and facilities maintenance.
There are both day shifts (9am-5pm) and double day shifts available (6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm)
Key Duties and Responsibilities Your duties as the Maintenance Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1.
Oversee maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with environmental and HS&E legislation.
2.
Support the manufacturing team with completion of Planned & Unplanned maintenance activities
3.
Assist with the coordination / completion of the weekly maintenance routines
4.
Develop and update Facilities site layout drawings in line with requirements.
Role Requirements To be successful in your application to this engaging role as the Maintenance Engineer, our client is looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

Relevant qualification in Engineering, Electrical, or a related field.

Proven experience in maintenance within a production environment, within the pharmaceutical industry would be desirable.

They have offices based in the North and South but the role is fully remote.
Due to continuous growth, they are currently looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their existing team and go through a 6-12 month training plan to become a Technical Author.
The role involves the management and provision of advice to internal groups and members, the facilitation, writing and maintaining of technical publications, and the research and collation of maintenance schedules.
This is a fully remote role and you can be based anywhere in the UK.
Travel to one of their offices for meetings is required occasionally, usually once per quarter.
Key Duties (Once Trained): Maintenance Engineer (Technical Author)
- Research, development and writing of service and maintenance schedules
- Continually review technical and legislative/statutory requirements, revising and creating
maintenance schedules accordingly to align with changes in the industry, including
schedule and task descriptions, maintenance actions, maintenance intervals and time
taken to carry out listed maintenance
- The provision of advice to subscribers, members and staff
- Keeping abreast of relevant developments relating to the technical and safety aspects of
the building services sector
- Collation and analysis of issues, trends and updates based on this analysis
- Gather information from industry and manufacturers to enable maintenance tasks to be
developed for new equipment and sector-specific requirements
Key Skills / Experience Required - Maintenance Engineer (Technical Author)
- Demonstrable experience in mechanical maintenance engineering, with significant
hands-on experience in maintenance, installation or design
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and maintenance requirements for mechanical building services
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts
- Working knowledge of Facilities Management, particularly in mechanical installations, and current regulations, industry standards, and codes of practice
- Familiarity with building handover documentation such as operation and maintenance
manuals, record drawings, manufacturers literature, and test certificates
- Ability to interpret legislation, standards, and best practice guides to draft and produce
technical documentation
- Effective communication with technical experts in the Facilities Management and Building
Services sector
- Understanding of user needs and requirements to tailor documentation accordingly
- Flexibility to quickly adapt and update documentation to reflect industry changes
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

The Role of the Machine Tools Service Engineer
This Machine Tools Service Engineer is a field-based role, visiting client’s sites and performing maintenance and repairs on machine tools such as milling machines and lathes etc…
The Service Engineer will also get involved in commissioning Machine Tools.
Working on both Mechanical and Electrical aspects of the Machine Tools.
The role is based on a 50-hour week, however this is door to door.

The Plant Operator is responsible for efficient day to day supply of services to the manufacturing unit.The Job Holder is responsible for:
Monitoring operation of HVAC systems and recording parameters e.g.
Velocities, Pressures, Temperatures, Drainage Systems etc.
Monitoring/ Inspection/ Operation of Boilers, Compressors, Refrigerant Plant, Stills, Steam Generators, De-Min Plant etc.
including water sampling and interpretation of results.
Undertake minor maintenance tasks including (but not limited to) steam traps, water filters, air filters, valves etc.
including draining and refilling of systems as required.
Responding to alarms by necessary adjustments or escalating where required.
Responding to alarms for Effluent Treatment plant when required.
Inspecting and replacing water filters and other consumable items and utility systems.
Support problem diagnosis and remedial action which is communicated to management and captured on the maintenance management system.
Completing and maintaining appropriate documentation including revision of S.O.P.'s as necessary
Monitoring, co-ordinating and taking the necessary action involved in the delivery\dispatch of Bulk Chemicals for example, supernatant waste, ethanol, caustic, etc.
Cleaning and painting of equipment in order to maintain a G.M.P.
environment.
Reporting to engineering management and relevant section manager all observations which may affect performance of critical item of plant.
To ensure all personal protection equipment is worn and maintained as required for the work.
To be point of contact and controller for all works and activities going on in the plant areas.
Owning the GMP compliance of the plant areas, including all log books.
Carry out condition monitoring of plant performance and equipment condition.

City & Guilds Steam boiler operators qualification or equivalent steam qualification
Successful candidates will ideally be certified industrial boiler operatives and will have qualifications from an approved boiler operation accredited scheme - acceptable qualifications are: Certified Industrial Boiler Operator (CertIB0) for steam raising boilers; Diploma in Boiler Plant Operation Management (DipBOM).
Previous experience will be taken into account.
Any formal technical qualification in mechanical or maintenance engineering will be looked upon highly favourably.
