A Top 50 ranked law firm is seeking a talented lawyer to join its Construction Insurance team based in London.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a highly regarded firm known for its top-tier ranking in Professional Negligence by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500.
The successful candidate will be involved in a dynamic and growing team that deals with high-value and complex claims across the construction industry.
The Construction Insurance team represents a diverse client base, including the majority of Professional Indemnity insurers, as well as many of the UK's largest contractors and consultancies.
The team handles a variety of claims involving construction-related professionals such as engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, and project managers.
The role focuses on defending liability claims pre- and post-litigation, as well as advising on associated issues like adjudication, arbitration, and policy coverage for insurers.
This position offers the chance to work on a wide range of claims, from tens of thousands to multimillion-pound values, while gaining exposure to business development and client engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload of construction professional indemnity claims, including coverage matters.
- Delivering high-quality, timely service to clients, aligned with service level agreements.
- Contributing to the teams development, streamlining processes and supporting constant improvement.
- Demonstrating the firms values of client focus, collaboration, and commitment to excellence.
- Attending and organizing client events as required.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- NQ+ PQE or equivalent expertise in construction litigation.
Insurance experience is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to deliver practical, commercial legal solutions while building strong client relationships.
- Commitment to business development, identifying growth opportunities for the practice.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Collaborative approach and willingness to mentor junior team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

THE ROLE
I am seeking an MEP Quantity Surveyor with at least 5 years or more MEP QS experience working for a firm of PQS / construction consultants.
You will work have the opportunity to work on a good range of projects of high value including data centres.
You will be involved in all aspects of the PQS role doing both pre and post contract work.
This role is for the Dublin office of an international firm.
THE COMPANY
My client is a busy established firm of construction consultants providing Quantity Surveying / Cost Management and project management and other services.
They work on both new build and refurbishment projects across a range of sectors to include hotels, residential, retail, industrial, logistics, higher education, leisure, data centres, infrastructure etc.
They have offices worldwide.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be an MEP Quantity Surveyor ideally electrically biased with good mechanical services knowledge.
You will need to have at least 5 years or more experience working as an MEP Quantity Surveyor in the UK or elsewhere in the EU.
You will ideally have some experience of using the NEC contract.
You should be able to use CostX or a similar billing programme for all MEP engineering services.
You should have good analytical skills and be able to manage QS tasks through to completion.
You should have a stable work record and have good pre and post contract work experience across a range of complex projects.
Any previous experience of working on data centres would be useful but is not essential.
You must have excellent English both written and spoken.
Salary is negotiable but likely to be in the range of Euro 80000 to 100000 per annum plus benefits to include RICS fees, pension, discretionary bonus etc.

As Project Quantity Surveyor you will support the Senior/Managing surveyor for the day-to- day management of all commercial activities in the construction process of the project.
The Project:This is a £200m Mixed Use Redevelopment project, located in Central London.
Main Responsibilities:
Procurement of Sub-Contractors; Ensuring Consultants and Supply packages are as far as possible within pre-agreed budgetary constraints.
Work package tender returns are properly analysed, and pre-start meetings attended and detailed Order placement recommendations are submitted to the Senior and/or Managing Quantity Surveyor.
Sub-Contractor/Consultant/Supplier claims are in the first instance properly administered subject to approval of the Managing and/or Senior Quantity Surveyor Sub-Contract; Consultant and Suppliers final accounts are properly administered in accordance with the commercial interests of the Company.
Requirements
BSc in Quantity Surveying
Chartered member of RICS or working towards
Excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (NEC & JCT) and Standard Methods of Measurement.
Knowledge of Building Regulations (including Part B)
Knowledge of NHBC Standards
