Duties & Responsibilities
· Lead the planning and management of a patient's mental health condition whilst a patient at our hospitals - including pre-admission planning and/or managing sudden acute mental health episodes, together with the patient's multi-disciplinary team and our Safeguarding Lead · Manage a caseload within their own scope of practice and with the guidance and support from the CNO of the facility and the wider clinical team · Upskill and train our colleagues to manage acute mental health patient deteriorations and provide advice on management out of hours, in consultation with psychiatrists.
· Complete risk assessments and provide advice on mental capacity assessments and build links with external inpatient mental health partners · Manage challenging or disturbed behaviour, provide advice on medication and participate in discharge planning for inpatients who will require mental health support.
