ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
The primary result expected from the Floating Night Shift Supervisor is to supervise the people at the facility and ensure the safe manufacture of products.
This is done by organizing and executing the shift production work schedule (as dictated via the production plan), to maintain a safe, efficient and organized working environment, and to provide leadership/guidance to all shift personnel.
This person will work in conjunction with both the 2nd shift and 3rd shift supervisors, when they are present and also cover either 2nd or 3rd shift, as needed when the supervisors are on vacation or call off sick.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensures that all plant operations adhere to DayGlo business and RPM corporate EH&S requirements, procedures, reporting and programs. Direct and coordinate the activities of all employees on the shift, in all departments. Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
Ensure the planning and scheduling of orders for plant production to maximize use of manpower and fulfill customer service requirements. Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs. Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between plants. Confer with management and others to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances. Interpret specifications, work orders, and company policies and procedures for employees. Gathers information, completes, and distributes end of shift reports.
Enforce work rules and administer discipline as required. Apply MS-168/Continuous Improvement principles to all aspects of the manufacturing process to drive improvement in production efficiency, product quality, and employee engagement. Ensure effective MS-168 Tier 1 meetings across departments. Ensure all departments are maintained in a clean, orderly and efficient fashion through utilization of 5S principles.
Train, motivate, and manage the hourly production staff within the manufacturing process.
Oversee performance skills matrix updates, initiates commendations, improvement plans and disciplinary action, as required. Work with/coordinates efforts between Quality Control, Engineering, R&D, and Maintenance departments for continual improvement of production efficiency and quality.
Prepares and maintains accurate data reporting and analysis, as required, and provides management with appropriate information.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
3 - 5 years departmental/plant experience in a Chemical manufacturing environment, preferably with liquid tint dispersions.
Must be a role model from an EH&S standpoint.
Must possess proper supervisory skills to ensure all direct reports and efficiently together to achieve business goals.
Must possess an ability to solve problems and work effectively to motivate/influence people.

Draw samples of products, and conduct quality control tests to monitor processing and ensure that standards are met.

Must be able to read and understand recording instruments, pressure gauges, scales, flow meters, panel lights, and other indicators to verify the conformity of process conditions.

Accurately record production and downtime via written documentation.

Operator is responsible to report correct counts of production for the shift and report downtime information.

Neatly assemble and place all required materials from the fill card to be used in their appropriate location throughout the shift. Read and follow filling procedures to package material into cartridges, chubs, or one, two and five-gallon units. Follow and meet the established production schedules. Properly use the filling equipment and maintain cleanliness of the work area following written standard operating procedures. Assist in the waste segregation and recycling program. Communicate written and verbal information between the Foreman and Production Manager. Use appropriate safety equipment and follow established safety regulations. EXPERIENCE:

The Technical Support Specialist is expected to demonstrate an enthusiastic commitment to providing industry-leading service and support to internal and external Euclid Chemical customers.
They should also be dedicated to personal growth in product knowledge and industry experience.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide and track excellent front line telephone/electronic service and support for Euclid Chemical construction products. Schedule and manage telephone support coverage, working with other Technical Support Specialists, Product Managers, and other marketing staff. Assist in the development of technical support tools such as product comparative guides, brochures, sell sheets, certification letters, website content, etc. Assist in product troubleshooting by proactively coordinating testing and analysis activities between sales representatives, customers, R&D/product development, customer service, and operations. Interact as a reliable peer, especially to sales representatives, product managers, marketing communications staff, customer service, business development, R&D/product development, and the operations group. Maintain electronic product technical files. Help plan and provide product training and demonstrations to internal and external customers. Occasional travel to construction jobsites or customer locations to provide product support may be required.

Rags are watered down nightly in Plant #1. Load trash truck and sort skids. Clean all Lunch and Locker rooms in the manufacturing area. Keep up to Date inventory of cleaning supplies.
Order as needed. Run vacuum hoses in Plant #2 in designated areas. Do whatever cleaning inside or outside that is required. Maintain a clean work area. Safely operate all equipment associated with a given process.
Use prescribed safety equipment, when performing duties. Communicate any variations/problems to appropriate Management Personnel.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Have the ability to read, write, and speak English and to understand simple math.
Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

The primary result expected from the Floating Night Shift Supervisor is to supervise the people at the facility and ensure the safe manufacture of products.

Ensure the planning and scheduling of orders for plant production to maximize use of manpower and fulfill customer service requirements. Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs. Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between plants. Confer with management and others to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances. Interpret specifications, work orders, and company policies and procedures for employees. Gathers information, completes, and distributes end of shift reports.
Enforce work rules and administer discipline as required. Apply MS-168/Continuous Improvement principles to all aspects of the manufacturing process to drive improvement in production efficiency, product quality, and employee engagement. Ensure effective MS-168 Tier 1 meetings across departments. Ensure all departments are maintained in a clean, orderly and efficient fashion through utilization of 5S principles.
Train, motivate, and manage the hourly production staff within the manufacturing process.
Oversee performance skills matrix updates, initiates commendations, improvement plans and disciplinary action, as required. Work with/coordinates efforts between Quality Control, Engineering, R&D, and Maintenance departments for continual improvement of production efficiency and quality.
Prepares and maintains accurate data reporting and analysis, as required, and provides management with appropriate information.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
3 - 5 years departmental/plant experience in a Chemical manufacturing environment, preferably with liquid tint dispersions.
Must be a role model from an EH&S standpoint.
