This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference to people’s everyday lives and contribute towards helping the overall NHS service.There is opportunity for either full-time or part-time roles, with shifts to cover a 24/7 rota including weekends and bank holidays. Reporting to the Therapies Manager, as the Band 7 Physiotherapist you will be a senior clinical member and leader within the Hospice Management team.
The Therapies Team includes Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Dietetics.You will;- lead a team of four Band 5/6 Physiotherapists, overseeing and ensuring the delivery of high quality provision to patients, families, and important others.- undertake highly specialised physiotherapy assessment and treatment of patients with life limiting illness as an autonomous practitioner.- contribute to, and take a leadership role in, projects and teaching initiatives as a source of physiotherapy expertise and advice across the team and organisation.- provide leadership on multidisciplinary rehabilitative palliative care, the principles and philosophy of supporting palliative patients to live as independently as possible, both within the hospice and externally.The Hospice comprises an Inpatient Unit (two 17 bed wards including respite beds), Community Palliative Care, Day services and various therapies including a volunteer led Empowered living team helping patients self manage their condition and maintain independence.
