E3 Recruitment are proudly supporting a globally operating engineering organisation with the recruitment of a Mechanical Fitter vacancy.

Because of continued demand of their products & services, this employer is looking to increase their headcount by bringing a Mechanical Fitter into their team on a permanent basis.

Employing over 3000 across the world, this impressive manufacturing & engineering organisation specialise in the manufacture, service and maintenance of industrial rotating equipment and offer their services to a variety of industries including Oil & Gas, Power Generation and Steel/Metal processing.

This employer is based in ELLAND, just a few miles from the M62, meaning the successful Mechanical Fitter will easily be able to commute from surrounding towns & cities including Huddersfield, Halifax, Bradford, Wakefield, Oldham, Rochdale, Dewsbury and Leeds.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter:

• Working primarily in the service department, dismantling and stripping industrial rotating equipment, including worm, helical, spur and bevel gearboxes


• Inspecting internal components and reporting on condition and repair/refurb required


• Re-building/assembling gearboxes in line with OEM standards


• Working directly from engineering/technical drawings


• Supporting other internal departments where required (new gearbox build etc.)

The ideal Mechanical Fitter will have:

• Formal qualifications within a relevant Engineering discipline (apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds etc.) - NOT ESSENTIAL and candidates with strong, stable & relevant career history will also be considered


• Experience working with industrial rotating equipment - gearboxes, pumps, motors, valves, compressors, turbines or similar


• The ability to read, interpret and work directly from engineering/technical drawings

Working Hours of the Mechanical Fitter:

37 Per week spread across a regular day shift:

• Monday to Wednesday - 07:30 to 16:15


• Thursday - 07:30 to 15:45


• Friday - 07:30 to 12:00

Regular overtime available midweek and on weekends

On offer to the Mechanical Fitter:

• Starting Salary: £28,000.00 rising to £30,000.00 after 12 months
  Holiday Allowance: 28 Days including public holidays
