Controls Engineer
This permanent Controls Engineer position is with a UK based OEM company, specialising in the installation and commissioning of manufacturing equipment within the chemical & pharmaceutical sectors.
The successful Controls Engineer will be responsible for the software/systems lifecycle from initial design concepts and documentation, software development, software testing and commissioning/Validation.
Working to the latest software and industry standards to provide high levels of customer care to clients.
Main duties of the Controls Engineer :
- Provide Software technical support to sales to ensure we offer the correct solutions to the customer and have the knowledge and ability to fulfil the work
- Work closely with other teams in the business (primarily Controls/Electrical design and TAD Test Engineer) whilst developing software to ensure client needs are met
- Carry out Software functional testing and commissioning and providing the highest level of customer service
- Maintain the QA procedures for software development, maintain software revision logs
- Keep up to date with electrical and control systems to ensure joined up approach to software lifecycle
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the business, its people and processes
About the Controls Engineer :
- In depth experience of PLC programming using Siemens Step 7 and WinCC or Siemens TIA Portal V13 or higher.
- Awareness of communication protocols such as Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet Modbus TCP/IP
- Awareness of Electrical / Controls Legislation & Codes of Practice
- Experience with Allen Bradley RS Logix 5000 and RS View Machine studio Edition
- HNC/HND, DipHe Electrical/Controls Engineering or equivalent qualification Or Siemens PLC training courses (ST-PRO1, ST-PRO2, ST-PRO3) (TIA-PRO1, TIA-PRO2, TIA-PRO3)
The Controls Engineer is a permanent position with scope to progress into other areas of the business.
This position also has the benefits of flexi-time, 23/24 days Annual Leave plus statutory days and Peoples Pension.
