Roles and Responsibilities for the Handyperson/Semi skilled Maintenance are:
- Basic handyperson duties such as: putting up signs, painting, erecting posts, water pipework, assisting engineers with some tasks (labouring)
- Basic mechanical maintenance skills: comfortable with hand tools, assisting Engineers one task.
- Carry out minor works and out planned maintenance on emergency lighting, identifying any faults and remedial works
- Changing of Lamps
- Water hygiene tasks
- Minor decorating tasks
- Minor plumbing repairs
- Carry out ad hoc general minor repairs as required
- Chance to develop and go on training courses to improve skills in weaker areas.
I would love to see CVs from candidates who have:
- Previous experience working as working as a handyperson, caretaker, facilities assistant or semi skilled building services engineer
- General handyperson skills - joinery, painting, basic electrical/mechanical tasks
- Flexible approach to duties
- Basic electrical /mechanical experience/awareness
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Capable of planning and organising own workload
- The ability to communicate well verbally with colleagues and customers
- Able to problem solve / diagnose faults etc
