Digital Content Assistant - eCommerce

£26,000 - £31,000 + Remote & Hybrid Working After 6 mths + Bonus + Benefits

Our client is a fast-growing, customer focused and friendly e-commerce business, located in the centre of the historic coastal city of Portsmouth.

They have successfully expanded their business to service a number of European markets with a significant proportion of overall turnover now generated from Germany and France.

Having grown rapidly as a result of their exceptional customer service, superior products and the passion of their team, they have become the market leader in metal garden furniture in the UK, whilst adding five other European territories.

As a result of our client's laser focus on all things digital, they are now looking for an eCommerce Trading Assistant to join their Content team.

Working under the Head of Marketing, you will be helping to write an exciting new chapter in our client's story.

As a Digital Content Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the creation of highly engaging, relevant content across all social and email channels.

As well as supporting trade and content functions across the websites and marketplaces, you will ensure all products are represented in the best possible way to customers, identifying and reacting to trends whilst highlighting opportunities to exceed sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Head of Marketing with the day-to-day trading of both the UK and European eCommerce sites

  • Assist with planning and execution of the Marketing communications plan

  • Delivering sales and conversion targets against budget

  • Focusing on the continuous optimisation of the mobile and desktop sites and working closely with our platform provider to deliver enhancements

  • Optimising onsite search to improve customer experience and conversion

  • Working to constantly improve the product conversion funnel from category view to product page and checkout

  • Ensuring that product listing pages are effectively merchandised and all products are maintained to the highest quality

  • Responsible for maximizing cross-selling opportunities across all categories of the sites

  • Ensure the product detail pages represent the product in the best way (Imagery, key features and USP's)

  • Work closely with the team to ensure product descriptions are delivering key selling points

  • Work closely with Customer Service team to gain feedback received from customer correspondence to improve end to end customer experience

  • Compiling accurate daily, weekly and seasonal reports on trading performance, including product categories and ranges

  • Highlighting sales and conversion trends against forecast and previous performance

  • Responsibility for ecommerce data feeds (product and customer)

  • Utilise Google Analytics to help optimize product sales and customer experience

Your professional profile

  • Driven by a desire to create solutions to provide the highest quality customer experience.

  • Strong attention to detail and a desire to always learn and improve.

  • A strong interest and understanding of online marketplaces and consumer behaviour.

  • A strong academic record.

  • Fluency in a second language, German or French would be advantageous

  • Used to identifying opportunities to do things differently, showing flexibility and a willingness to rise to the challenge and suggest solutions

  • Confident decision maker with the ability to quickly define what needs doing and prioritise actions in order to get things done.

  • Flexible with work duties and hours as required by the team and business.

  • Outlook to life that sees opportunities rather than barriers.

  • Commercially aware and able to operate in an entrepreneurial environment.

  • High level of numeracy as well as excellent understanding and experience of Excel
