Manufacturing Development Team Leader

Our client, an international leading manufacturing company based in Snodland, is recruiting for a Manufacturing Development Team Leader to join their rapidly expanding company.

The Manufacturing Development Team Leader is responsible for fresh water, process chemicals and chemistry, legionella control, product quality and food contact requirements and effluent treatment as well as aspects of the ISO certifications.

The Team Leader will report to the Manufacturing Development Manager and will take responsibility for leading improvements in all areas as well as providing support to, and cover for, the Process Technologists and Technicians.

Your role will include:
- Develop an in depth understanding of, and carry out improvement projects on, fresh water and effluent treatment including dissolved air flotation, anaerobic and aerobic effluent treatment.
- Process modelling - data analysis to identify process deviations, analysis of QC and
production data to optimise production and material usage.
- Quality Systems: Support for Compliance Manager in maintenance and development of
the ISO Management Systems and lead role in food hygiene standards.

Assist in the
investigation, analysis and development of corrective actions with regard to customer
- Risk Analysis and FMEA studies throughout the plant to identify risk areas and develop
effective controls.

Development of predictive / analytic tools to improve plant
performance and minimise downtime.

Development of effective safe systems of work to
ensure safe and reliable plant operation
- Develop a practical hands-on approach to problem solving and support for day-to-day
- Work closely with Projects and Engineering teams to develop and support Capex project
- Act as deputy for the Manufacturing Development Manager as required
- Gain a solid understanding of the other key processes on site e.g.

paper machine and CHP
and the interactions between them and Manufacturing Development

The Ideal Candidate:
- Degree in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering or similar
- Computer and systems literate: Use of Excel, Word
- Able to analyse complex systems and identify and action solutions
- Able to communicate orally and written at all levels
- Knowledge of Continuous improvement techniques Biochemistry
- Previous experience in a continuous process environment
- Hands on as well as office based
- Self-starter able to work individually as well as part of a team
- Able to manage time and priorities
- Prepared to challenge the status quo
- Good interpersonal skills
