We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic Finance professional to help support the budget managers within the Economic Development function for Broadland and South Norfolk Councils.

What you could be part of...

We are seeking a finance professional, ideally part qualified CCAB, fully qualified AAT, or significant experience in finance at an equivalent level to join our busy Finance Business Partner team.

Working with the Senior Finance Business Partner to deliver the monthly budget monitoring function for the two Councils providing timely, accurate and meaningful information to enable informed decisions to be made.



You will ideally have significant demonstrable experience in budget preparation and monitoring processes as well as providing management accounting services to non-financial managers.

What you'll be doing...





* Provide financial expertise to influence and support Directors and Budget Managers in their decision making and to highlight business performance improvement opportunities in the Economic Development service.


* Provide all aspects of management accounting to Economic Development and other areas as needed, including reviewing budgets.


* Investigate discrepancies and report on revenue budget variances.


* Ensure business cases are financially sound and reflect commercial realities.


* Strive for continuous improvement of processes and procedures


* Produce and submit all relevant financial returns and grant claims by the due dates


You must have...





* Experience in budget preparation and monitoring processes


* Problem-solving skills for complex technical activities.


* The ability to assimilate a range of information quickly and efficiently and apply the relevant regulations and legislation


* The ability to be able to work under broad direction, being responsible for your own work


* Good communications skills.

You may be required to occasionally present to stakeholders such as corporate managers, Members, Committee/Panels or other key external bodies.


* Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft applications particularly advanced Excel skills and knowledge of financial management systems e.g.

Integra, Civica.


* Ideally some experience/knowledge of the income streams and key issues relating to Economic Development
