Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Based in Elland, just a few minutes from the M62 motorway, the successful Electrical maintenance engineer will be able to easily commute from surrounding areas such as: Huddersfield, Halifax, Bradford, Wakefield, Leeds.

Electrical maintenance engineer Essential Skills & Experience

A recognised mechanical/electrical engineering qualification with experience working as a maintenance engineer (mechanical or electrical or multi-skilled) within a manufacturing business.

  • Ideally will be electrically biased

  • Previous experience maintaining various factory equipment, machinery and plant (conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, PLC controlled machinery, etc).

  • Good understanding of current H&S legislation and its application within the role.

  • Ability to effectively prioritise own workload.

  • Pro-active, positive and self-motivated approach to work.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to change/flexible approach to work and working hours.

  • Must hold a full UK driving licence.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.

  • HSE management in accordance with the company's policies and management systems and all legal and statutory requirements.

  • Responsible for self and others to maintain a safe working environment as per the H&S at work act (1974).

Electrical maintenance engineer Qualifications

  • HNC/NVQ/C&G level 2 or 3

  • 18th/17th edition

Electrical maintenance engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance activities to facilitate the move from breakdown to planned maintenance.

  • Participating in the construction, installation and commissioning of new plant/machinery, upgrades and projects.

  • Undergo internal/external training (where/when required) on plant equipment, engineering tools and repair techniques to ensure plant/machinery is manufactured to the highest standard.

  • Ensure that all work is carried out to a high standard of quality and in line with current legal standards, company policies and procedures.

  • Maximise availability of all mechanical and electrical equipment through continuous improvement, optimum performance, improved efficiencies and cost reduction.

  • Maintain equipment supported by sound diagnostic and problem-solving skills raising issues as required to the management team in a timely basis.

Electrical maintenance engineer Salary & Package:

  • JOB TITLE: Multi-skilled electrical engineer

  • JOB TYPE: Permanent

  • LOCATION: Elland, Halifax


  • SALARY: £38,000 to £42,000 (shift allowance when working shifts)

  • HOURS: On a double day shift pattern 06:00 - 14:30 / 11:00 - 19:30
