Key Accounts Business Development Manager – Brackley – Building and Plumbing Services – Up to £50,000 Basic Salary + Benefits

Key Accounts Business Development Manager sought for our client who is one the UK’s leading Draining and Emergency Plumbing companies with national branch network.

You will be joining our client at an exciting time as their business continues to grow year on year.

Your will be the face of the Brand for their national Key account channel.

You will be on the front line of customer interactions, ensuring their every need is catered for and every request fulfilled.

 As the Key Account Business Development Manager, you will be challenged to win new, profitable business for the brand, whilst supporting the development of their existing Key account customers on a national level.

Primary Responsibilities:

As a Key Accounts Business Development Manager, you'll need to:

  • Strategically plan and Maintain Pipeline of Customer Opportunities
  • Build, maintain and deliver profitable revenue growth
  • Manage the company CRM to a high degree of accuracy to ensure all activity is recorded.

    This will include all business calls undertaken with clear objectives and outcomes recorded on account activity.
  • Ability to negotiate with key stakeholders both Internally and Externally
  • You will be required to develop, present, and create propositions, sales pitches aimed to win new business along with maximizing opportunities within our client current and new customer base.
  • Cold call as appropriate to create creditable leads and be able to demonstrate ability to contact key decision makers within the customer organization.

    You will be measured on account call rates, conversion rates and reportable account revenue generation.
  • Review Forecast and understand impact of Customer Activity
  • Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, - or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Meet with customers/clients face to face, over the phone & remotely.
  • Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
  • Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business, as directed by the Managing Director.
  • Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes, as directed by the Managing Director
  • Draw up client contracts - depending on the size of company, this task may be completed by someone else or jointly, or agreements may not be as formal

  • Liaise with the wider National account team, finance team, BDM team and all other departments as appropriate
  • Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to senior management/Directors


  • As a Key Accounts Business Development Manager ideally you will have experience within the Drainage & Plumbing sector (beneficial)
  • Ability to demonstrate experience in building, maintaining, and delivering growth within Key/Major Accounts
  • Have a proven track record of winning new profitable business
  • Be commercially aware and analytically minded
  • Confident and ability to sell a Solution through Value propositions
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to work individually or in a team environment
  • Possess a positive attitude, good negotiation skills and persuasiveness to win and convert high value propositions
  • Be a key influencer and have strong persuasion skills
  • A smart appearance and professional manner
  • IT Skills to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate in both written and verbal forms Internally and externally with Senior Management and Senior Contacts
  • Confident and ability to carry out Presentations to Key Clients
  • Excellent diary and time management ability


  • £45,000 - £50,000 Basic Salary (subject to experience)
