Senior Fashion Designer

Location: London (Haggerston)

Salary: £40k to £50k (flexibility for the right candidate) + Excellent Benefits

Our client is an independent ethical fashion label redefining streetwear for a new generation.

Rising onto the UK streetwear scene with explosive impact over the last couple of years, the company has created its own space within the current cultural sphere.

The Role:



* Manage and coordinate a growing design team to ensure exceptional product and timely delivery is continually achieved


* Ideate and design conceptual and groundbreaking, graphic led concepts based on a phenomenal understanding of streetwear style


* Responsible for developing collections that align with the brands strong design identity and vision


* Constantly push creative boundaries (while maintaining and establishing the brands identity), leading the team to generate innovative designs that connect with the brands audience in new ways


* Push design innovation, whilst accounting for factory capabilities and target price points


* Working closely with the technical and graphic designers to ensure that they support the execution of all designs and to ensure that the manufacturing partners can produce them as intended


* Liaising with production coordinator to ensure feedback from factories is noted and addressed in a timely manner


* Support design and production team by maintaining and improving workflows and best practices


Technical Skills:



* High level of skill within print and graphic design


* Excellent knowledge of garment construction, from spec'ing/measuring garments for development to full technical packs


* Excellent sketching and CAD design skills


* Strong knowledge of jersey washes and print techniques


* Experience with fitting jersey garments


* Strong proficiency in adobe packages including photoshop, illustrator and InDesign


* Ability to translate inspiration and ideas into unique product opportunities


Must-Have:



* A genuine passion and immense knowledge of streetwear


* Positive attitude and the ability to keep up with a fast-paced environment


* Able to take constructive feedback, to learn and grow with the brand


* A love for the brand and understanding of their mission


* Minimum of 5 years experience within a design role


* Experience working in a fast-paced, creative environment, with a record of delivering successful projects in a timely manner


* A creatively minded person with an eye for detail and the ability to guide designers and artworkers with their community and brand vision in mind


* Highly organised, self-sufficient with an ability to prioritise and drive multiple projects simultaneously


* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
