Application Engineer

Reports to: Service Manager, UK

Location: Harlow, Essex

£40,000-£50,000 + bonus + wider package and car

Role Purpose:

We are seeking an innovative, talented Applications Engineer to join our team.

You will collaborate with our Engineering and Technical Support group to develop new applications and improve upon existing ones that will serve our customers and business.

This position works in close coordination with the Sales Team as well as the Product Manager to facilitate clarity and organization of technical details.

This position may travel up to 50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement technical support strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of the sales support.

  • Responsible for building and maintaining relationship with sales & service team, who will provide pre-sale support to our customers and sales teams on a Brookfield portfolio of products and technologies.

  • Manages the leads & opportunities for technical stage support & monitor technical activities in Sales Force.

  • Assist in the engineering and selling of products and serve as liaison between the company and customer.

  • Engages with leaders of other functional areas to create new offerings, or to craft the plans to execute on an identified need for pre-sale services.

  • Regular attendance is an essential function for pre-sales technical meeting with customers.

  • Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on technical application opportunities (expansion, business development etc.)

  • Creating regular application notes & techno commercial offering for Sales team by understanding customer's needs.

  • Understand the requirements of existing customers & business partners to ensure their needs are being met

  • Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)

  • Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (marketing, sales, customer service etc.)

  • Manage the organizations relationships with independent representatives, resellers, distributors, or agents.

  • Make customer visits, provide technical sales presentations for all company product lines,

  • Use solution selling methodologies to sell the value of company products to distributors and then customers.

  • Provide valued support to Channel Partners by promptly replying to their needs, providing guidance and ensuring a strong drive to results as requested by Region Sales Support Engineer.

  • Operate within the matrix structure and provide support to the vertical market Support Engineers within the region.

  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor´s/ Master´s degree in the discipline of Science or Electrical Engineering or relevant similar discipline.

  • Fluent in English language, both written and spoken (a second European language is desirable)

  • Hand-On mentality with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Attention to detail in maintaining required records and reports.

Travel Expectations:

Travel up to 50% to achieve performance & growth expectations.
