Adult Social Care Paralegal

Service Care Legal are currently working alongside a flourishing Local Authority, based in Derbyshire, which is in need of an experienced Paralegal to join their Adult Social Care and Education team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with Local Authority experience to further expand upon their legal repertoire.

ROLE: Adult Social Care and Education Paralegal

LOCATION: Derbyshire, remote working

RATE: £20-£25ph umbrella

CONTRACT LENGTH: 3 months ongoing

The Role:

  • Provide legal advice and assistance to the Adult Social Care department, to include but not limited to, matters of safeguarding; mental capacity; ordinary residence and section 117 disputes

  • Drafting and managing applications to the Court of Protection using the streamlined procedure (‘Re X') to authorise deprivations of liberty

  • Effective management of your own workload, as well as assisting Lawyers within the team in the conduct of their cases

The Person:

  • Someone with a minimum of 12 months experience as a Paralegal within an Adult Social Care and Education Legal team

  • Someone with Knowledge of current and proposed legislation and case law relating to Adult Social Care law

  • Ideally someone who has worked within a Local Authority as a Paralegal or Legal assistant
