Locum Social Worker - Family Safeguarding, Private Fostering

West Sussex County Council are looking for a Social Worker to join their Family Safeguarding Team with a focus on Private Fostering.

This is a Locum Social Work role based in Bognor Regis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a social worker in Family Safeguarding West Team with a primary focus on Private Fostering.

We are seeking an enthusiastic social work practitioner who is excited by the opportunity to support and safeguard children in private fostering arrangements, including those coming into the UK as Ukrainian refugees.

The ideal Social Worker will be a car driver and be happy to drive around the county to fulfil the role requirement.

Your responsibilities as a FS Social Worker:

  • Experienced Social worker with at least 2/3 years' experience in a family safeguarding team.

  • Responding to new notifications when a child is placed in a private fostering

  • Assessing the needs of the child and suitability of a private foster carer and their home environment

  • You will have your own caseload of children subject of private fostering regulations, and any other intervention they need.

  • You will be offering consultation and support to Social Workers across Children's Social Care to improve their identification of private fostering and raise awareness

  • Multi agency working experience

Requirements of you as a FS Social Worker:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)

  • A valid Social Work England registration

  • Have competent knowledge and experience of work within Fostering or Kinship

  • A valid UK Driving Licence and vehicle is required

Location: Bognor Regis, Wets Sussex

Umbrella pay rate: £37.00-£40.00 per hour
