Based at: Runcorn
Position reports to: Technical Operations Manager
Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience
Hours: Days (40 hrs)
Mon – Thu 07:45 – 16:45 (30 min lunchbreak)
Fri 07:45 – 13:45 (no lunchbreak)
Job Purpose Summary: The Senior Product Technologist will provide technical support and leadership for Commercial manufacturing and Technical Transfer/Scale up activities.
The role entails: driving improvements in product quality and productivity, resolving manufacturing and quality problems whilst ensuring customer commitments are met, being a Subject Matter Expert with focus on Product, Process and Equipment, and working to current GMP and EHS requirements.
The Candidate
• Preferably a science-based qualification.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience working in pharmaceutical, FMCG or other regulated production operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritise and make critical process decisions at short notice
• Experience of Process and Equipment (or at least awareness of) desirable.
• Experience in batch processing in a cGMP pharmaceutical industry desirable.
• Lean manufacturing and/or Lean Six-Sigma training and experience desirable.
• Proficient in project work/tasks.
• MS Office.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Leadership:
• Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing issues, developing cost-effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation into production.
• Work in cross functional team to resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, and equipment.
• Monitor and improve productivity, while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality, and cost-effective manner.
• Manage and coordinate projects relating to Commercial products (process validation/equipment validation/material changes/continuous improvement).
• Lead projects/provide support for Scale Up and Technical Transfer of future product introductions to the site.
• Track project deliverables in terms of milestones and maintaining project timelines with forecasts; including escalation to line manager.
• Develop and share expertise to facilitate continuous improvement within production.
• SME for Commercial products including ownership of process flow documents, cross-contamination risk assessments, and cleaning processes.
• Protocol and report writing, review and execution of protocols.
Support production team in execution of protocols.
• Author, update and review batch documentation and SOPs.
• Lead and author complex CAPAs, deviations and other Quality documentation and track and close documentation on time.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations.
• Train and mentor other personnel, as required.
• Perform and assist in additional duties as directed by the management.
Experience
