An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Secretary to join a leading set of commercial barristers' chambers in the Dispute Resolution team.

Salary £25,000 plus Bonus & Pension Scheme.

The Legal Secretary will provide diary and practice management support to the Practice Manager and commercial chambers and ensure they remain in compliance with the Bar Councils Code of Conduct.

Legal Secretary Responsibilities:



* Accepting appointment of arbitration, adjudication, expert determination, mediator.


* Carrying out conflict checks, completing acceptance forms and modifying terms of appointment.


* Familiarisation with the rules of the abovementioned main arbitral institutions.


* Liaising with arbitral bodies including ICC, LCIA, SIAC, HKIAC, DIAC etc.


* Administration of bank account facilities and fund holding accounts.


* Recording documents, fees and information on Meridian Law Connected/ Meridian Diary and Fees system


* Cover for reception one day a week and on other occasions as directed.


* Allocation and distribution of new work and booking hearings, conferences, fixing cases with courts, and advising professional clients of counsel's availability


* Negotiation, agreement and billing of fees and expenses


* Arranging domestic and international travel.


What we are looking for:



* We are keen to speak to candidates with experience working as a Legal Secretary, Legal Administrator, Legal Assistant, Legal Executive, Dispute Resolution Administrator, Paralegal, Practice Manager Assistant, Assistant Practice Manager supporting the Dispute Resolution team.


* A Levels or a University Degree


Benefits:



* Bonus Scheme (up to 10% of salary)


* Hours 37.5hrs a week: Monday to Friday (on shift rotation system working between 8am and 6pm)


* Holiday entitlement - 20 days plus bank holidays 22 days after one year and 25 days after two years


* Pension Scheme - employer contribution 6%
