Team Leader

 

Title: Production Team Leader

Reports to: Area Manager

Reportees: Production Operatives

Summary of Function:

To ensure all activities as described below conform to the Company's Policies with respect to: Safety (Personal & Food), Quality, Profitability, Hygiene, Training, Customer Service and Attendance.

This is a hands on position to control and run a line and to support the Area Manager and if required stand in to cover any periods of holiday or sickness.

They will have the following attributes as a minimum requirement:

· Good communication skills written and oral (English)

· Computer literate

· Experience of production environments

Main Responsibilities:

· Lead and motivate the Operators on the line to ensure that delivery targets are met on time and in full.

· Coach and develop members of your team.

· Compliance with Good Manufacturing practices (GMP), hygiene, operator personal hygiene standards (PPE).

· Ensure that customer requirements (internal and external) regarding safety, quality, people, delivery and cost.

· Drive a continuous improvement culture with respect to quality, efficiency, wastage and service levels.

· To report any safety issues to the Area Manager on a daily basis.

· Compliance with sampling requirements (in process and end of line).

· Compliance to Manufacturing Instructions.

· Liase with Area Manager and Technical in the event of operating outside of the agreed parameters.

· Conform customer codes of practice and BRC standards at all times.

Key Tasks:

· Manage break times on the line (2 breaks for 8 hour staff, 3 breaks for 12 hour staff).

· Carry out start up checks on the line.

· Complete all necessary paperwork.

· Complete product audits

· Complete efficient changeovers using the skills of the operators on the line

· Setup, run and carryout checks on the following equipment:

· Proseal

· Autocoder

· Labeller

· Metal detector

· Checkweigher
