Refrigeration Design Engineer

An opportunity has arisen for a Refrigeration Design Engineer to join a world leading, privately owned company who specialise in the design & manufacture of scientific instrumentation based in Cambridgeshire.

As a Refrigeration Design Engineer based in Cambridgeshire, you will work closely with their R&D team on the design, development, and testing of our range of refrigeration products, both current and next generation.

The previous experience required for this role of Refrigeration Design Engineer

• Work on designing and developing new products related to the refrigeration, heating and cooling.


• Join an established team of Mechanical and Control Engineers.


• Guide the design aspects of refrigeration systems in various R&D projects


• Provide input to complete design work (mostly refrigeration but electrical/electronic as well)


• Experience of designing Refrigeration equipment, including capillary and expansion valve systems


• A good theoretical knowledge of refrigerant cycles


• Experience with refrigerant selection and an understanding of their relative merits and disadvantages


• An understanding of variable speed compressors and other advances in refrigeration technology


• Experience of selecting components, such as compressors, expansion valves, heat exchangers, etc.
