Project Buyer

E3 Recruitment are proudly supporting a globally operating organization with the recruitment of a Project Buyer based at one of their Centres in the heart of West Yorkshire.

Purpose of the Project Buyer

The Project Buyer will be responsible for leading and managing all purchasing related activity for assigned Products and Services within nominated projects, from negotiations at upfront client tender to placement of order and delivery of product and development of the supplier and their performance.

Main tasks and responsibilities for Project Buyer

• Adherence to Co policies and procedures regarding the purchase of Products and Services and in accordance with the finance department procedures applicable to Procurement.


• Assume responsibility for leading the procurement of assigned project Products and Services within budget and within project timescales.


• Evaluate supplier quotations during client tender to support required technical and commercial requirements in line with clients AVL.


• Prepare technical and commercial evaluation sheets ensuring full scope of supply has been quoted accurately and like for like throughout panel of vendors.


• Makes sourcing recommendations to tendering to support the package bid to client.

Project Buyer Required Competencies and Behaviours

• Familiar with developing Supplier strategies


• Excellent communication skills Excellent negotiating / cost analysis skills


• Experienced practitioner within the development of KPI's to drive continuous improvement within overall Supplier Performance


• Project management skills


• Commercial acumen

Project Buyer Required Qualifications

• CIPS qualification desirable


• HNC in mechanical/electrical engineering and/or


• Minimum 5 years relevant experience within a related manufacturing industry


• Excellent experience and working knowledge of contract drafting / and the negotiation of supply agreements


• Experience of Lean / Six Sigma principles
