Quality Engineer

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join this UK success story.

They are now their industry's market leader, growing significantly, and are a dynamic and innovative company where every individual can demonstrate their initiative and make a real difference.


They develop mission-critical components for the energy industry and require an experienced Engineer to drive continuous improvement activity to improve production yields & productivity.

Your role will be to ensure that products are fit for purpose, meet the defined specifications, and support product & process improvement using Quality
Planning and APQP core tools.


Main tasks and responsibilities
, Lead cross-functional teams to improve process yields using PFMEA / structured problem-solving.
, Manage the reject process.


, Support production & test processes with product quality and efficiency improvements.
, Play a leading role in developing a Continuous Improvement Programme.
, Play a leading role in manufacturing process design & development using the company's new product development process.
, Evaluate customer quality issues and ensure effective feedback into design & manufacturing.
, Manage production and design changes and ensure agreement by appropriate authority levels.
, Quality Systems, Frameworks and Processes - including Audits
, Customer requirements - support as required with customer audits, documentation Approvals - develop PPAP / FAI approvals for new products.
, Help to develop the Integrated Management System in line with ISO9001 accreditation.

Person Specification
, Educated to degree level or equivalent in technical/ engineering subjects.
, Lean Six Sigma Green belt with good working knowledge of SPC.
, Trained auditor.
, Quality / Manufacturing Engineering background working in a high-volume manufacturing environment, e.g.

automotive.
, Practical experience with APQP, PFMEAs, PPAPS, SOPs, 5S and Visual Management.
, Experience delivering improvements using the tools (RCA/Fishbone/FMEA).
, KPI driven with good analytical skills.
, Strong background in Continuous improvement, including Rapid Improvement Workshops.
, Cost/Benefit analysis in the CI context.
, Use of VA (value add) / Non-VA studies to support Productivity improvement.
, Excellent communication skills, leadership ability with good influencing skills.
, Able to create simple SOPs & audit instructions.
, Proficient with Microsoft Office - especially Excel.
, Strong problem-solving skills & resilience.
