UX Designer

Job Description:

Our client, a leading fintech firm are looking for an experienced UX designer.

This is a stand alone role.

A great opportunity for someone to come in and stand on their own two feet.

You'll work with our customers to understand their business needs by transforming research insights into actionable design hypothesis that can be prototyped and tested and eventually translated into a best-loved, customer-centred experience.



Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Deep understanding of the design thinking process and experience implementing best design practices within product teams (e.g., prototyping, service design and mapping)

  • Experience conducting user research to identify customer problems and workshopping solutions focussed on positive customer outcomes.

  • A strong proficiency in design tooling such as Figma, Invision, Adobe Suite

  • An impressive design portfolio with examples to showcase your breadth of experience and demonstrate your skills.

  • Experience working on designing with data and communicating complex messages via engaging UIs.

  • Experience in partnering with Product Managers to organise value-driven design priorities.

  • Comfortable designing for native web and mobile apps

  • A desire to learn and a natural curiosity for new design methodologies.

  • Relationship building skills to engage with our customer base and range of internal stakeholders to listen, consult and drive alignment around design proposition.

  • Familiarity with agile ways of working and frameworks such as scrum.



Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Exposure to front end development

  • Experience working with product analytics tools (e.g., Heap, Google Analytics, Hotjar)



Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with Product Managers to identify research areas and design methods to obtain valuable customer insights.

  • Translating research findings into a refined UX design strategy

  • Testing ideas with prototypes and getting customer feedback early and iteratively

  • Leading the execution of the UI design and customer experience for our product suite

  • Maintaining an organised and prioritised design schedule of work based on our customer and team goals.

  • Supporting and coaching our software engineers in bringing your designs to life

  • Monitoring and assessing product success following release
