Buyer

Overview:



To support the company's current growth strategy a decision has been made to recruit a Buyer to work within their established Procurement Team.

He or she will play a key role in assisting both the Supply Chain Manager and Senior Buyer in their everyday responsibilities to ensure that supplies arrive on time and on budget to the Production facility.




The preferred candidate would benefit from the following key criteria:



  • The applicant must have some previous experience of working within both a Procurement and Manufacturing

  • Will ideally be apprenticeship/degree

  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft

  • Be able to undertake projects to achieve cost reductions and continuously strive for improvements within the purchasing process and current working

  • Be a bright, driven individual looking to further their career in a rapidly expanding, successful and established



The Buyer's key responsibilities will include:



  • To expedite Purchase Orders on a daily/weekly




  • Raise Purchase Orders for requirements generated through the




  • Sourcing of components and preferred supplier guidance for technical




  • Sourcing and procurements of raw materials for consumption by the company's in-house machining




  • Raise Purchase Orders for all stationery, janitorial, consumables and non-MRP




  • To assist the Senior Buyer in the progressing of outstanding or late Purchase Orders.




  • Report generation from MIS system to aid in decision making with reference to suppliers current and future order value status etc.




  • To ensure Purchase Order Memo Codes are updated on a weekly




  • To assist in processing of supplier invoices as, and when




  • To answer external telephone calls and redirect or take messages as




  • To participate in other duties and projects that contribute towards gaining a rounded knowledge of the operations of all departments within the business.



Product Knowledge and Technology



  • It will be of great importance that the successful candidate, if not already having industry experience, makes themselves familiar with the company's products and processes at the earliest
