IT Support Engineer

IT Support Engineer - £25,000 - Chatham, Kent. My client, a fast moving and cutting edge manufacturing company based in Chatham, Kent, are looking for an IT Support Engineer to join the business due to a sustained period of rapid growth in recent years.

This is a Technical support position, sometimes referred to as an IT Support Engineer, a 1st & 2nd Line Support Engineer or Service Desk / Desktop Support Engineer.

You will be mainly dealing with day-to-day support of 50+ staff, some of whom are based remotely.

The company uses a third party IT support company for infrastructure and overall IT support, so you will be working closely with them for any escalated issues.

This role is to look after first line support of the users and to assist the management team in looking at future needs.

Experience required includes:

• Previous experience in an IT Support role


• Good understanding and experience of Windows operating systems


• Ideally experience with SQL database management


• Knowledge of current network hardware and standards


• An aptitude for working with departmental managers in developing and testing bespoke software (developed by outside partner) to streamline operations


• An ability to assist users with printer, scanner, and other peripheral issues.
  
  

You will be developing and maintaining a hardware register as part of this role and will be working with management teams on planned replacement programs.

You will ensure video conferencing facilities are suitable for purpose and will be responsible for maintaining VOIP phone system (working with an external supplier).

You will deal with resetting user passwords, unlocking user accounts and will maintain housekeeping on all hardware.

As an IT Support Engineer at this company, you will be entitled to a salary of £25,000 alongside a generous benefits package that includes private medical cover and pension.

Working hours will be 08:00 - 16:30 & Monday to Friday.
