Manufacturing Operations Manager
Our client is an International market leading manufacturing business with plans for major capex investment across their manufacturing facility close to the Wolverhampton area.

Working as part of the senior leadership team the Operations Manager position is a senior-level appointment, in which you will assume Operations and Manufacturing responsibility for one of their key operations, close to the Wolverhampton area.
Applicants are invited from a wide range of manufacturing backgrounds but must have experience in managing production within a made-to-order, fast-paced, and high-volume manufacturing environment, in which continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques are at the heart of what you do.

Key responsibilities within the Operations Manager position:
- The strategic development of manufacturing operations across a number of manufacturing lines across the facility
- The development and promotion of lean manufacturing techniques, such as 5s, VSM, OTIF, SQDC, etc, across manufacturing operations
- People Management, including the motivation and mentoring of managers to effectively problem solve and develop their careers
- Implementation and adherence to health and safety standards, and ISO quality systems
- Taking manufacturing operations through the utilisation of higher levels of automation, supported with sustained investment in capital equipment to enhance the levels of production output and support the future balancing of production activity needs against forecast growth and demands.
- You will be required to demonstrate an ability to introduce processes/procedures across our clients' manufacturing lines, which enhance manufacturing output and support the delivery of EBITDA objectives over the next 3 years and significant company growth
- The Operations Manager will be responsible for leading the development of an agile, positive, ambitious manufacturing function that has the skills, resources, and capability to become a key enabler of growth, development, and improved business performance over the next 3 years.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE TO APPLY FOR THE OPERATIONS MANAGER VACANCY;
- Previous experience within a senior level position, e.g.
Operations Manager, Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Factory Manager, General Manager etc. - Leadership and people management skills with the ability to build, motivate, develop, and improve teams.
- Significant experience in managing in a manufacturing/production environment
- Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, implementing continuous improvement tools and techniques, including ERP/MRP systems, SOPs, and problem-solving techniques
- A seasoned manufacturing professional who understands the journey to WCM/operational excellence, who can work closely with key members of production teams pushing where required, being robust with colleagues where necessary, leading from the front, but being prepared to be involved in the day-to-day activities of the shopfloor if this is necessary to achieve enhanced results.
- Ideally, degree-qualified or commensurate experience
