Production Supervisor

An opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join our client, that have already engaged in the delivery of a wide range of high profile projects and on the back of this they have been recently been awarded another major contract and thus require a Production Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis.

The client has been in business for over 50 years and are an approved business in Precision Engineering.

Many of their workforce have been with them for over 20 +years, enjoying a vibrant working environment.

They have also recently spent millions on modernising their manufacturing facilities.

Our client have worked for a number of international customers from Europe, the US and the Far East , supplying a vast range of Castings to the highest of quality covering aerospace, rail, energy.

defence, oil and gas markets.

DUTIES include for the role of Production Supervisor :

• Supervision of the inspection/dispatch/painting & shot blast department: working closely with the works director to ensuring all departments are effective in achieving monthly sales targets.
  
  

• Supervision of the fettling operatives: Ensuring prompt start-up of shift production.
  
  

• Plan and allocate jobs to all production operatives in each department to meet shift targets while keeping a high standard level of health & safety.
  
  Ensuring that health, safety and environmental policies are followed including reporting of incidents and follow up corrective actions.
  
  

• Training/coaching of all operatives to ensure they understand their respective responsibilities and the requirements of the process being worked.
  
  Also to help them develop and progress their own career paths.
  
  

• Hold daily production briefings or toolbox talks to identify any production problems and how to resolve them, setting targets for the following shift.
  
  

• Conduct staff performance reviews, back to work interviews and work with HR on any grievance, disciplinary or attendance matters in a timely, professional manner.
  
  

KEEN TO speak to Production Supervisors WHO ARE /HAVE :

• Previous Foundry experience preferable in cast iron, Steel or a forgings background.

• Worked in a fettling, grinding environment.

• Experience managing the daily and weekly production of a busy department consisting of approximately 20 employees.

• Worked in a fast paced environment - target driven and customer focussed.

• Good Man Management skills/ Supervisory experience.

THE offer for the role of Production Supervisor :

• Salary up to £40,000 per Annum.

• 2pm finish Weekdays.

• 8% Pension Contribution.

• Bonus Scheme.
