Software Engineer / Image Processing / C / C++ / Algorithms

Role Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

• Supporting and contributing to the development of video compression technology


• Participating in ongoing research and development to improve video compression techniques


• Design and implementation video compression algorithms


• Reviewing and evaluating state-of-the art approaches to compression including but not limited to the exploitation of deep learning techniques.

Person Specification

Essential skills will include:

• Good understanding of video and image coding principles, algorithms, and techniques.


• Knowledge and experience of video compression standards, such as H.264, HEVC, VVC, VP9, AV1


• Familiar with assessing visual quality using both objective metrics and subjective techniques.


• Excellent software design and debugging skills and solid programming skills in C or C++
