Residential Childcare Worker – Part-Time

A long-standing specialist school for primary & secondary-aged children is now looking for a dedicated Residential Childcare Worker to join the team in looking after the welfare & well-being of the children staying within the school’s residential accommodation.
Consistently rated “Good” by Ofsted, the school provides excellent education and wider learning opportunities for children with sensory difficulties (such as sight and hearing impairments) and physical and learning disabilities.

The school also offers on-site accommodation for up to 24 children, which provides a comfortable supported space to relax, make friends, and explore hobbies and interests (including a variety of clubs and activities) outside of the classroom.
As a Residential Childcare Worker with the pastoral team, you will help to facilitate leisure activities (including recreational and sport-related outings), provide personalised care for each child’s pastoral needs, and encourage development of independence, confidence and important life skills.

All specialist training will be provided.

The following working patterns are available:
• Mornings (8h/week) – 7-9am, Tues-Fri
• Evenings (22h/week) – 3.30-9pm, Mon-Thurs
This is a permanent, term-time only role (39 weeks per year) – you will have school holidays off.

Person specification:
You must be a patient, well-organised and caring person.
You must be willing to earn a L3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if you do not already have this qualification).
Previous experience of working with children with SENs is preferred but not essential.
