GPW are seeking an Electrical Design / Software Engineer for a niche manufacturer based in Manchester, their product range is impressive and sold across the world.

The Electrical Design / Software Engineer will be responsible for the design of control and drive systems complying with the specification requirement, preparing electrical drawings of the control and drive systems, development, testing and verification of PLC controller programmes against the specification requirement.

Your role will involve:

• Design and development


• Demonstration and test


• Maintenance and backup


• Change control


• Value Engineering and budget control


• Project and Production Control

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required by the Electrical Design / Software Engineer

• The use of CAD (ideally Solidworks Electrical)


• Knowledge of motion control, fieldbus, safety systems, PLC's, HMI's etc


• Experience of working on electrical systems or design


• Ability to work on multiple projects


• Higher education in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

As the Electrical Design / Software Engineer, you'll be rewarded with:

• A salary £40000 pa - £45,000 pa depending on experience.


• Death in Service Life Assurance (following 12 months employment)

• 25 days holiday + 8 stats (appropriate number of days to be saved for Xmas closedown (usually 3 days)


• Pension of 4.5%

• Hours of work 36 hours a week


• There will be 1 day a week working from home following completion of a 3 month probation and from day one there is flexi-time on start and finish times, Monday to Friday
