Unaccompanied Asylum Seeker Children's Social Worker

A South Wales Local Authority are looking to recruit an Unaccompanied Asylum Seeker Children's Social Worker (UASC).


This is an exciting opportunity to join the service which puts the individual at the heart of their work.


What is offered to you as an UASC Social Worker:



  • With effect from 1st April 2022, this role attracts a market supplement of £5,000 (full time equivalent).

    (£41,298- £45,478)

Your responsibilities as an UASC Social Worker:



  • To undertake and promote the effective assessment of Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children including those in Age Assessment/Dispute



  • Keep children, young people, and families at the heart of the work through promoting the use of Signs of Safety engagement tools.



  • To work with Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children in Cardiff and to enhance this approach to social work in teams.



Requirements of you as an UASC Social Worker:



  • Have a relevant professional qualification in Social Work.

  • Registration with the Care Council for Wales or equivalent

Location: Cardiff


Salary scale - Grade 8 - £36,298 - £41,000
