KHR are working with a leading specialist financial services provider with offices globally.

With a broad portfolio of solutions to suit a diverse client base including SME's, Corporates, the investment & fund management sector and private individuals.

This company is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant with experience in the financial services or retail banking sector to join them on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for assisting in providing Accounting Services to support the Accounts Function in the timely delivery and integrity of the assigned income statements, balance sheet accounts, and year-end Audit.

Currently the team commit to 1-2 visits per month to either the office in London or Mid Kent, this is subject to change with a view to being 2 days per week from the office, therefore candidates must live within a reasonable commute of London or Mid Kent.

Duties:

- Assist in the preparation of the quarterly VAT return
- Monthly commissions analysis
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of the Dubai Management accounts and support, when necessary, the management accounts for the other entities
- Balance sheet reconciliations including ensuring the Fixed asset registers are up to date in all entities.
- Cover for bank peer reviews
- Analysis of company accounts for the onboarding process
- Cover for the Accounts assistant including cover for the general accounts email
- Support audit preparation and complete audit tasks for all entities as required
- Assist in the preparation of the daily cash balances analysis
- Support in the implementation of the new accounts package
- Escalate accounts concerns to the HOF in a timely manner
- Respond to ad hoc query reviews in a timely and professional manner
- Complete other duties relevant to the role as required

Requirements:

- AAT qualified
- 3+ year's proven experience in an Accounts advisory role either for a financial services company or retail bank preferred
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills, alongside advanced problem-solving
- Be able to build trusting and collaborative relationships across the Business
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrate strong IT skills, including Internet and email, computers, word processing, and spreadsheets
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good presentation and report writing skills
- Demonstrate strong time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
