Job Description

Service Care Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Central London for an Assistant Finance Manager on a temporary basis.

Main Responsibilities:

• To co-ordinate the Budget Monitoring report for services within the remit of this role by setting up spreadsheets and tables to enhance financial monitoring and reporting and co-ordinating responses on forecasts and performance statistics by agreed deadlines.


• Responsible for the provision of appropriate, accurate and timely budgetary control information to budget holders, including salaries monitoring and forecasting.
  
  Providing this service in accordance with agreed standards and targets.


• Undertaking work on key financial processes including budget setting, in-year monitoring and closing the accounts.


• To work with budget holders under the direction of a Business Partner to provide financial support and advice.

Ideal Candidate

• CCAB/AAT Qualified or equivalent experience


• Experience in Local Government finance within closure of accounts/year-end


• Experience of managing junior members in a financial environment is desirable


• Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
