In-House Legal Counsel

Outstanding opportunity for a Commercial Solicitor to progress their career with a major retail business, operating a number of household name brands, as In-House Legal Counsel.

Head office is at York where free parking is available.

The business is however very flexible and is happy to consider applicants looking to work some days from home.

You will join a stable, well established legal team which supports an interesting and diverse business.

So, you will take responsibility for a hugely varied range of legal matters including:

- The drafting and negotiation of a range of commercial contracts (procurement, sales agreements etc.).

- Intellectual Property portfolio matters

- Regulatory and compliance work

- Disputes

- Corporate advisory matters

It is by no means a pre-requisite that applicants have experience in all of the above areas and the structure of the team will allow for work to be distributed according to areas of strength but also interest and in line with your professional development goals.

The business is looking to recruit a Solicitor with around 2-5 years PQE in a Commercial discipline, who is willing and eager to learn and really diversify their skill set.

The ideal candidate could be working for a reputable law firm and looking to make their first in-house move, or may already be working in industry and looking to take the next step.

References to PQE are simply given as a guide and applicants who fall outside of this range, but who have the requisite skills, are of course encouraged to apply.
