Assistant Director Development Investment & Housing

A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for an Assistant Director Development, Investment & Housing to join their team as soon as possible.

The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to make a significant contribution to the Council's inclusive growth vision by leading on the delivery of key regeneration and major development projects, accelerate housing growth, inclusive economic growth and employment and skills programmes.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Co-ordinate the strategic direction and management of the Council's investment and development plans, policies, programmes and functions.
  
  


• Drive forward major regeneration programmes, inward investment, town centre and place making projects and housing developments


• Oversee the budget for the Investment and Development service as the budget holder.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require a degree level qualification in a relevant discipline, e.g., Surveying, Planning, Housing, Regeneration and relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• Leadership experience of delivering development, regeneration and housing services and major programmes.


• Experience of delivering complex and locally sensitive major capital programmes in a political environment.
  
  


• Substantial experience in both a strategic housing and housing delivery role and working with registered providers, housing developers and private rented sector landlords.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £700 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
