Infrastructure Architect - Permanent - Based in Hindlip, Worcester

This is a unique opportunity for a confident, independent Digital Services Architect to work alongside a major crime organization within West Mercia.

The postholder will be responsible for the efficient and effective design of any new or changed ICT Service while incorporating applications, technical infrastructure services.

Key responsibilities:



  • Strategic role in determining the future direction of the organisations ICT Infrastructure

  • Creation and Design of appropriate Architectures that maximise efficiency of all support

  • Responsible for all ICT applications, proving insight and direction

  • Development and documentation of ICT application, infrastructure and Service Strategy

  • Provide control and oversight of the lifecycle of all application and infrastructure

  • Assuring architecture meets all relevant industry and national standards

  • Understanding strategic business requirements, collecting data and delivering analysis

  • To design all functional and technical aspects of business change

  • Collaborates with and facilitates stakeholder groups to ensure their contribution

  • To deliver an environment of continuous improvement and innovation


Key experience:



  • Experience of architecting applications and infrastructure in a multi-faceted organisation

  • Ability to think strategically whilst having a strong focus on ICT tech and Service Delivery

  • Knowledge of IT standards and techniques (ISO 25000, 31000, 22301 / BS 25999)

  • Knowledge of Application Portfolio Management (APM) for enterprise software apps

  • Ability to lead during technical meetings and help drive discussions

  • Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues

  • Ability to think ahead and anticipate risks and find solutions

  • Confident in the ability to be professional and influential on key issues
