Engine Tools Programmer

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Engine Tools Programmer to work within a AAA Game Development Studio based in the North West.

We are looking for a Senior Engine Tools Programmer to join a growing studio who are working on a number of projects as co and lead developer on unannounced AAA titles for PS4 & PS5, XboxOne, Switch and PC.

The right person will be responsible for creating the supporting tools to make game development efficient, from build tools to metric measurement and feedback.

We need someone who has a good command of C++, Strong Maths skills and who can pick up algorithms and new languages easily.

The right person will have a deep understanding of Game Engine Pipelines, systems and system interconnectivity, and a broad knowledge from graphics to physics, collision, AI and data management.



We want someone who has had previous experience making and shipping video games, preferably AAA.

Key Requirements



  • Previous experience in making and shipping video games

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

  • Experience with creating supporting tools, build tools, metrics measurement etc.


  • Strong experience with C++

  • Strong maths skills

  • Experience with other languages and algorithms

  • Ability to profile and optimise systems

  • Experience with asset conversion pipelines

  • Experience data conditioning, exporting, compressing, optimising and transporting

  • Experience with Exporters

  • Any experience with level streaming



Nice to have skills



  • Any knowledge of Unreal Engine

  • Experience with C#, Python or Powershell

  • Experience with porting

  • Any experience with custom engine creation
