Purpose of the Role

To assist the Warehouse Manager in leading a team of Warehouse Operatives to complete all client orders on schedule, whilst maintaining good housekeeping practices, stock integrity, administration and team morale.

The Candidate

• Experience being responsible for a team within a warehouse environment.
• Experience using WMS systems.
• Excellent people / time management skills
• Ability to display a high attention to detail.
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills

The Role

• To supervise Warehouse Operatives, in the fulfilment of orders, and to ensure that agreed time scales and service levels are adhered to.
• To always have an up-to-date awareness of all ‘Goods In’ and ‘Goods Out’ activity.
• Actively manage stock levels and can resolve any stock related discrepancies as and when they arise.
• Forward plan tasks to make best use of resources (team, time, materials, equipment)
• Work collaboratively with other departments/business areas to ensure client requirements are met.
• Manage scenarios such as ‘Returns’, items for quarantine or material destined for destruction.
• Planning / prioritising tasks highlighting the best use of materials.
• Understands Health & Safety procedures and takes responsibility for their work area.
• Acts as a decision make in the absence of Warehouse Manager.
