The Atlas Recruitment Group are currently searching for a Network Engineer to join a Cloud Transformation organisation on a permanent basis.

You will be working from home when possible however the majority of the time you will be on-site with customers, implementing Networking projects.


The organisation provides Cloud Transformation services to mainly Public Sector customers but also Private, to help them on their journey into the cloud.

You will be working for a growing organisation that is a part of a group of companies, turning over £500 million a year.


As a Network Engineer, you will be embedded into their Network and Security team and will work closely with customers of the business to provide them with support on solutions being implemented as well as taking a lead on project delivery.


Key Responsibilities: -



  • Designing and developing functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, VoIP)

  • Configuring and installing LAN equipment, switches, and routers.

  • Support and coach other engineers in the team at a technical level to provide

  • professional support.

  • Data Centre design and support, specialising in Routing and Switching.

  • Design and Implement Network Connectivity solutions based on business

  • Ensure adequate systems monitoring and maintenance is in place.

  • 3rd line technical BAU support for the Networks team on a day-to-day basis including

  • problem resolution.

  • Network Hardware Lifecycle management and upgrades.

  • Support and technical guidance on VoIP solutions including On Premise and Cloud

  • Solutions


Technical Skillset Required: (as much of the below as possible)



  • Cisco Routing and Switching within a Data Centre environment

  • Strong Network design experience across LAN/WAN/Security/QoS.

  • Technology focus - MPLS, TCP/IP, IPSec, BGP, QoS, IP Telephony, Multicast etc.

  • Knowledge of Cisco Switched Layers 2 and 3 and experience in Cisco Switches 3650s, 3750s, Nexus 7700 and Nexus 7000 Switches.

  • Knowledge of Wireless technologies such as Cisco WLC 5508 and 5520 and 3802 and 2802 Access Points, including cloud solutions such as Cisco Meraki.

  • Knowledge and experience in routing protocols such as MPLS, BGP, EIGRP and OSPF and the ability to troubleshoot Layer 3 issues.
