ROLE: Treasury Management Accountant
LOCATION: Coventry (Hybrid)
CONTRACT: 3 months (Ongoing)
RATE: £20-22 per hour UMBRELLA

Please note that this role is a hybrid working position.

The Role

• Prepare, manage, and forecast the Council's daily cash flows to ensure sufficient funds are available to pay its creditors and employees.


• Making decisions within the Council's treasury management strategy as where to invest surplus funds and when to borrow.


• Contribute towards the preparation of reports and returns including the treasury management strategy and quarterly budget reports


• Monitor the financial markets and make recommendations on the source and timing of long-term borrowing.


• Assist with the monthly preparation and submission of the Council's VAT return


• Contribute towards the year-end accounting process including the statement of accounts

The Person

• Possession of the Consultative Committee of Accounting Bodies (CCAB) qualification or equivalent.


• Knowledge and experience of the following areas are desirable but not essential:
  
  
  
  • banking and payment processes
  
  
  • computerised accounting packages
  
  
  • Microsoft applications, in particular Excel
