Job Description
Service Care Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in London for an Interim Head of Internal Audit & Anti-Fraud.

Main Responsibilities:

• To provide strategic leadership for the delivery of a high quality effective internal audit service to the Council ensuring compliance with the Accounts & Audit Regulations 2011 and the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards and ensuring that it adds value to the organisation.


• To lead a team of audit professionals in a proactive, innovative and effective way, ensuring that individuals are nurtured and provided with the necessary support to secure high levels of performance, motivation, commitment, teamwork, collaboration and trust.


• To play a critical role in delivering the organisation's strategic objectives by championing best practice in governance, objectively assessing the adequacy of governance and management of existing risks, commenting on responses to emerging risks and proposed developments.
  
  


• Give an objective and evidence-based opinion on all aspects of governance, and the operation of internal controls managing the risks that support the delivery of the Councils objectives and vision that can be used by the organisation to inform its governance statement.

Ideal Candidate

• IIA/CCAB Qualified with Management Qualification


• Experience of leading an Internal Audit team within Local Authority


• In-depth understanding of the Accounts & Audit Regulations 2011 and the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards


• Experience of Strategic and Operational work at senior level within Internal Audit


• Great communication skills and the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
