Senior Legal Assistant - Property

Service Care Legal are recruiting on behalf of a London Borough Council who are seeking a Senior Legal Assistant to join their Property Law team.

ROLE: Senior Legal Assistant - Property
LOCATION: North West London / hybrid
RATE: £20 to £23 per hour
CONTRACT: 3 months ongoing

Please note that this role is hybrid working (2 days in the office per week).

The Role

• To assist Lawyers and Senior Lawyers in progressing full caseload of predominantly general property law matters through to completion


• Caseloads will include Right to Buy matters, consent to works, deeds of postponement, Right of First Refusal, Statutory lease extensions and Collective Enfranchisement


• Assisting with Certificate of Compliance requests (regarding restrictions on titles and deed of covenants) and dealing with Title Queries


• Undertake complex legal and technical tasks in connection with residential conveyancing or where directed in relation to Commercial Property or Planning for the council and for external clients

The Person

• At least 12 months' worth of Paralegal / Legal Assistant experience within Property Law would be essential


• Previous local authority experience would be highly desirable for this position


• Knowledge of the law and practice relating to Regeneration Property and Planning


• To be able to process a heavy caseload and handle complex legal matters within area of responsibility
