Account Manager (Grocery Retail) – Kent - FMCG - £55K + Benefits

Position:           Account Manager

Salary:              Up to £55,000 (dependent on experience) + Benefits

Location:         Hybrid (Kent HQ)

My client is a well-established food manufacturer who have won numerous awards and earned a fantastic reputation for being a leader in their field.

They are seeking an Account Manager to join their team.

The successful Account Manager will be responsible for overseeing their customer portfolio by managing and developing client relationships, being point of contact for any queries, ensuring budgets are met and to upsell accounts to ensure company progression.

This role will have particular focus on select Grocery Retailers.

This is the perfect opportunity for highly driven Account Managers to join an established business who can match your ambition and offer genuine progression opportunities.

Responsibilities include:


  • Build and develop multi-functional relationships at all levels in account portfolio.
  • Understand customer business strategies and develop successful growth plans aligned with these.
  • Support team in defining budgets, targets and strategies.
  • Negotiate cost price changes, range, distribution, shelf positioning, promotional activities etc.

    to build the brand within customer portfolio.
  • Manage Own Label contracts as appropriate, including securing new business, maintaining current business, and managing the P&L in a commodity driven environment.
  • Create and maintain demand forecast at volume, value, and profit level

The Ideal Account Manager Candidate:


  • The candidate MUST have a proven account management experience within FMCG Sales.
  • Have experience working with both branded and own brand products.
  • Must have strong negotiation skills and be able to demonstrate delivering multi-million-pound results.
  • Must have solid knowledge of category and insights.
  • Must have experience influencing and negotiating with all level stakeholders and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Have a structured approach with a clear view on hitting targets.
