An excellent manufacturing business are seeking to recruit a Materials Science Engineer to join them on a 12 month contract basis to assist with extra work load

This is a 100% on site role

The Materials Science Engineer role:

• You will test and approve of components against internal specification requirements working with laboratory equipment and external suppliers where required


• You will provide feedback to design reviews utilising materials science knowledge and understanding suitability of materials for the applications


• You will work with internal design teams to conduct materials laboratory work to determine if products meet their specification requirements


• You will support supplier quality investigations and provide guidance, plan and carry out suitable test methods to determine root cause of potential issues


• You will maintain and develop databases of materials test data

The Materials Science Engineer candidate:

• Equivalent work experience in Materials Science and Engineering or a relevent discipline area is required


• Experience of applying science to resolve problems in industry is required


• Laboratory experience including sample preparation, microscopy, analysis and reporting is required


• Experience of the automotive industry would be beneficial but not mandatory


• Bachelors of Masters in Materials Science and Engineering or a relevent discipline is required

This role requires close interaction, largely virtually, with teams based across the globe.
