Group Finance Controller – International Hospitality Group   

Role:                    Group Finance Controller

Location:            Central London

Salary:                 Up to £75k  

Reporting into: Group Finance Director

This group has been operating in the Hospitality scene for almost 60 years.

Not only do they operate some incredible venues in the UK, but they also have a strong presence in Europe with an array of characterful pubs, bars, and accommodations.

As the finance department looks to expand and make process and structural updates, the FD is looking for a financial controller who they can work with collaboratively and share leadership responsibility with.

You will manage a team spread across Europe and provide financial information to the Group FD for presentation to the Board and external parties.

Responsible for the internal control environment and integrity of the Group’s financial records.

Assisting with the medium and long-term financial strategy for the Group in accordance with the business strategy.

Leadership

• Managing the Finance Team including developing the appropriate structure, roles & responsibilities, job descriptions, performance measurement criteria and training and development needs.  Ensuring required CPD is up to date.
• Creating an environment to encourage a sense of responsibility, involvement, and ownership, whilst leading company policies affecting the team.
• Assisting in the formulation of the Company’s financial and business strategy in accordance with the medium and long term objectives determined by the Board.
• Provide specialist advice/recommendations to Group MDs/Business heads and challenge assumptions around business performance/operations
• Sustaining/supporting key external relationships with auditors, banks, lenders, suppliers etc.

Business Operations & Resource Management

• Providing all statutory financial information for all group companies as per legal requirements including annual report and accounts.
  
  Directly responsible for the consolidated position.
• Managing and reporting on group cash flow and treasury arrangements – including variances to plan, funding requirements
• Manage group audit appointments, ensure audits completed in a timely fashion and to fee budgets, minimise audit assurance risk.
• Assisting with the preparation and submission of business plans, formulation of budgets and forecasts to the Board.
• Management and optimisation of the group tax position for corporate, payroll and VAT to mitigate tax risk.
• Develop, implement and maintain group accounting policies & procedures ensuring consistency of application across the group
