Job Description
Service Care Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in London for a Divisional Accountant on a temporary basis to join their SEND team within the Children and Adults Finance division.

Main Responsibilities

• The Divisional Accountant in SEND will be responsible for monitoring and forecasting for all expenditure and income within the SEND service within the Education department


• Lead on the development and adoption of appropriate and proportionate financial metrics across the Programmes


• Lead on financial monitoring of the budget recovery plans including working with Budget Recovery Board and external assurance partners to provide financial assurance


• Continuing development of the council's SAP and other financial information system


• Deputise for the Senior Finance manager as required

Ideal Candidate

• Qualified CCAB/CIMA Accountant or part-qualified with extensive PQE


• Experience of working with Childrens/Education/SEND finance within a Local Authority


• Experience of effective programme delivery in a complex organisational environment with multiple stakeholders


• Experience of budget monitoring and providing advice to senior members


• Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
