Research Scientist - Assay Development

We are currently looking for a Research Scientist focused on Assay Development for Antibody Drug Discovery to join a growing Biotherapeutic company based in the South Cambridgeshire area.

As the Research Scientist - Assay Development you will be responsible for the development of in vitro assays for the screening and validation of novel Bispecific Antibody Discovery.

This is a hands on lab based position and would suit and experienced Assay Scientist who has current industry experience, ideally focusing on Antibody Drug Discovery.

This role offers you the opportunity to join a start-up environment in an established Global organisation where you have lots of scope for the development of novel assays and leading on your own projects that allow you to utilise your problem solving mindset.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Research Scientist - Assay Development will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1.

Development of in vitro assays using mammalian cell lines and primary cells.

You will design and develop complex functional assays for antibody discovery and antibody validation activities.

2.

Optimise and troubleshoot the development of screening assays at a high-throughput level.

This will be done both independently and in collaboration with your highly motivated colleagues.

3.

You will develop cutting-edge technologies for antibody discovery against challenging targets in both the Oncology and Autoimmunity therapy areas.

4.

Analyse and present your findings and data to the wider team and project stakeholders.



ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Research Scientist - Assay Development we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1.

Relevant PhD in Immunology, Pharmacology, Cellular Biology or related field in addition to a number of years experience in industry, ideally in an Antibody Drug Discovery setting

2.

Proven industry experience in cell-based assay development including but not limited to antibody-based assays, Flow Cytometry and Microscopy.

Experience with Live Cell Imaging and Organoid cell culture would be beneficial.



3.

A working knowledge and understanding of the mechanisms related to autoimmune or inflammatory disease would be ideal.
